Our Roasters:
Mary Polak, Peter Fassbender, Tim Lounsbury, Bruce Kilby, Ken McGregor.

Our Master of Ceremony
Peter Luongo served as an educator/ School Administrator in the Langley School District for 34 years. Peter is best known for his role as musical director with the world renown Langley Ukulele Ensemble. Under his musical direction the group became an international sensation with performance tours across Canada and America, as well as performances in Asia. The ensemble was also featured in the 2008 award winning documentary film, The Mighty Uke. Peter's efforts brought international recognition to Langley as the “ukulele capital” of Canada.
He was acknowledged as the Langley Community’s Leader of the Year in 2005 and has also been voted “Entertainer of the Year” in the community.

Our Entertainer:
Tracey Bell first stepped into the spotlight with a Tina Turner impersonation that brought down the house! Since then, she has performed thousands of one-woman shows internationally; for corporate events, awards functions, family parties, charity fund-raisers and other special events.
Tracey Bell is best known for her interactive, quick-change impersonations of Cher, Marilyn Monroe, Celine Dion, Liza Minnelli, Madonna, Janis Joplin, Tina Turner, Dolly Parton and Julie Andrews. She has also impersonated many other celebrities and created original characters.

Our Roastee:
Jim McGregor is a born and raised Langley community member, who served diligently as a Langley City Fire Chief before retiring after a 36-year tenure. During his career he chaired numerous federal, provincial and regional fire service committees with respect to training and building codes.
Jim is a proud Father of three and grandfather of two; as well as a published poet, fiction author, and free-lance columnist for the Langley Times, and the Okanagan Advertising Newspaper. He continues to serves our com
munity through numerous voluntary board positions and (hopefully) can take a joke...

Our Auctioneer
Pat Grant a very comical speaker paid our Rotary Club a visit, not quite fitting the profile of an Auctioneer, more of a standup comedian. Pat told us of his journey of becoming an Auctioneer and the people he met along the way. From the Cowboys he met while earning his degree, to the the Estate Auctions and the Event Auctions he worked his way through to arrive at the position he enjoys now. That of owning his own auctioneering business called “Avid Auction,” I for one am very sure we will be seeing more of this man in the months to come. Have to add that he raised $1200 for Polio Plus before he left, thanks to Steve Carter and Terry Smith’s Bidding War.

Rose Gellert String Quartet
Newly formed in 2016, the Rose Gellert String Quartet consists of violinists Will Chen and Samuel Tsui, violist Peter Ing, and cellist Ben Goheen. The ensemble is proud to be quartet-in-residence at the Langley Community Music School (LCMS), and derives its name from the school’s concert hall and one of LCMS’ great patrons, the late Rose Gellert. LCMS is pleased to provide the performances of the quartet to the community as a result of a generous patronage.

Our Piper Mike Chisholm
“The soul stirring sound of the great highland bagpipes is the perfect note to commemorate a special occasion, or any event where you want to create an impact and leave a lasting impression.
”Mike is the official piper for Rocky Mountaineer Rail Tours and a piper for a number of other high profile organizations including the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club, Canada Place and HSBC.
On this special night Mike will lead our special guest to the podium for this evenings Roast.
Let the fun begin.
